The European Union (EU) (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) Regulation, i.e., (EC) No 1907/2006, is a regulation of the EU concerning the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals. The regulation was officially effective as of June 1, 2007 and implemented on June 1, 2008, exerting a significant impact on the export of electrical and electronic products to the EU.
The Regulation stipulates:
(1) Enterprises whose products contain Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) need to fulfill the obligation of information transmission or notification in accordance with the relevant requirements of the REACH Regulation;
(2) Electrical and electronic products shall comply with restricted substances requirements in Appendix XVII of the REACH Regulation.
Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) that may be present in electrical and electronic products
